Delighted Householder

| My wife and I are absolutely delighted with this cleaner. A little on the heavy side but well worth the effort of carrying it upstairs. We have had quite a few vacuum cleaners, mostly Electrolux; but unfortuantely they have changed and not for the better. A friend purchased one of these Sebo's that we had never heard of before, and after looking at the reviews we decided to get one. Its the best purchase that we have ever made and can well recommend them to anyone who is thinking of buying a new vacuum cleaner. Because you don't have to change the bags or empty everytime you use it, it pays for itself with its cleanliness. Just put the bag in and vacuum, no messy emptying till the bag is full, great, better than the bagless vacuum cleaners too. |
Far better than Dyson

Bought one of these March 2009 and have only just changed the dust bag for the first time! We probably don't clean as much as we should, but even so it beats messing about emptying "bagless" cleaners every few weeks. I've had two Dysons before and while James Dyson prides himself on product engineering I'm afraid the Sebo is in a different league. It doesn't try to be quite so clever or "different" as Dyson (after all, how did we manage before they brought out those ball cleaners?), but the build quality and performance are excellent.
It's not perfect - it's easy to tip it over when using the attachments. However, that's a price well worth paying for something that feels and performs like it's been really well designed. When I was choosing it I read that many hotels insist on using these and I can see why. |
Move over Dyson

After years of using a Dyson DC04 which I thought was a bit posh at the time, and being reasonably satisfied, by looking at all the dust and hairs it picked up.
It finally got beyond economical repair. (That's a good old civil service term).
Well move over Dyson. SEBO quality; build and performance beats you hands down.
Ok you need bags, but this is so much more civilised than emptying a plastic bucket of filth.
It goes under the radiators; the hose attachements are so handy; it's lighter and actually drags you around the floor.
I thought the carpet needed steam cleaning until this beast got hold of it.
The carpet feels really comfy to walk on now.
Buy cheap buy twice is a good motto when looking for vaccuums.

This machine is, in my opinion, unbeatable. I have left it ten months before writing this review to let the 'problems' and 'disappointments' arise. There aren't any and I am still thrilled with it. Yes, as a reviewer commented, it does fall over if the hose is pulled too hard but one gets used to handling it to stop this from happening. I checked out reviews from many, many sites before committing myself to an expensive purchase and I noticed that on an asthma prevention site in America it was the recommended item and very highly rated.
The machine is just so effective and all the dust is compressed firmly into its concealed bag. When the 'bag full' warning light comes on one simply pulls the lever to open the bag holding compartment, takes out the bag, replaces the bag's cap and disposes of the bag without getting dirt anywhere - least of all up your nose!
The Sebo has filters which need changing after 20 bags have been used. I have just started using my third bag after ten months (and with new carpets shedding fluff everywhere). Another of its many features is a button to release the rotating brush which then simply slides out of its holder for cleaning purposes. This doesn't usually require doing but a family member has a thick mane of waist length hair...
Oh, and there is no loss of the ample suction as the bag fills. The Dyson people say that their bagless machines with cyclonic action eliminate this and that may be so, but on my Dyson machines I had to change the filters every two months because of dramatic loss of suction.
Put briefly, the machine is lightweight, thorough, smart, clean and very user friendly. Buy and enjoy! |
