Fabulous Oreck

Orecks are fabulous. I have an Oreck XL upright vacuum cleaner which weighs only 7 lbs. and which I bought in 1992 and is still going strong. I am elderly now and arthritic and can easily lift this vacuum with one hand and push it like the old carpet sweepers. You can go straight from carpet to tiled floor without any adjustment. it's excellent picking up cat hair (I have a long haired cat) and has really good suction. It lies practically flat to go under furniture. I cannot fault it except people say it's noisy (but what vacuum cleaner isn"t?) but I don't notice it because I'm used to it. I have gone on site here because I am looking for another one at a price I can afford so that I can have one upstairs and one down. Of course they weren't nearly as expensive in 1992 as they are now, but this price is considerably less than one purchased direct from Oreck.
